Magellan Midstream Partners Commodities Marketing Analyst in Tulsa, Oklahoma

Description

  • Regularly analyze refined products, crude, and NGL markets and collaborate with commodities team in developing sales and hedging strategies.

  • Maintain and further expand existing commodities analysis reports and develop new risk simulation tools to help MMP evaluate and manage commodity exposure.

  • Market production volume via spot and term trade agreements, buy and sell over/short positions in spot markets, and execute NYMEX hedge trades to cover exposed positions for assigned business strategies and areas.

  • Analyze MMP physical inventory positions and movements for refined products and crude in MMP (Atlas) and other 3rd party inventory systems.

  • Schedule refined products and crude inventory movements within the commodity management system (Right Angle) and other 3rd party inventory systems (Transport 4, etc).

  • Compile, analyze, interpret, and assist in making decisions from reporting of MTM positions, risk exposure positions, hedge status of financial plan, break even analysis, Value at Risk analysis, etc.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree is required; MBA preferred.

  • Requires more than four (4) years of experience in the industry or related field; experience in a role that directly supported commodities trading and risk management preferred.

  • Proficiency in raw data manipulation, applying advanced MS Excel skills. Intermediate to advanced computation skills.

  • Strong communication and relationship building abilities.

  • Familiarity with crude oil and refined products published pricing sources.

  • Demonstrated problem solving and business analysis skills. Ability to be detail oriented while also maintaining commercial awareness and a broader view of a business situation. Aptitude to apply strategic thinking skills to identify and evaluate logically and creatively various factors that can have a current and future business impact.
