JOB SUMMARY

Job Profile Summary

The Maintenance Operator role is responsible for all general maintenance, operational support, repairs, and upkeep at the terminal facility. The level of complexity and responsibility increases with the job grade level.

Applies acquired job skills and has a good knowledge of the job, and company policies/principles. Follows instructions and utilizes standard practices and procedures to develop resolutions to problems of limited to moderate scope. Assignments are semi-routine and require the ability to perform basic problem resolution, but must have the ability to recognize the need for occasional deviation from accepted practices. Generally, follows established procedures on routine work, and seeks input from higher levels to resolve more complex problems/issues. Instructions are provided on new assignments.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • The Maintenance Operator is responsible for a variety of maintenance tasks including some operational tasks and involves maintaining, installing, and repairing/operating equipment within an assigned area.

  • Tasks include performing routine inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of assigned mainline and facility equipment/systems, including but not limited to:

  • Pressure Control Devices (PCD’s)

  • filter changing

  • double block and bleed checks

  • valve, pump, VRU, and rack maintenance

  • meter replacements

  • flange torquing and unbolting

  • pipe threading

  • piping drain-ups and spec installation.

  • Complete and maintain required documentation/records associated with performed maintenance and repair including lockout/tagout (LOTO).

  • Ensures compliance with company policies and relevant federal, state, and local requirements (e.g., DOT, EPA, DEP, OSHA, and SIP) as they pertain to the operation and maintenance of the facility.

  • Maintenance Operator performs general facility maintenance and upkeep including painting, general housekeeping, line specs, etc.

  • Maintenance Operator performs routine preventive maintenance and follows all safety requirements to prevent product contamination, and spills, and avoid product loss.

  • Materials receiving – take receipt of all materials received at the terminal, verify order is correct, notify the person who placed the order of its arrival, and disseminate materials as directed.

  • Equipment operation – Maintenance Operator will be required to operate facility equipment such as forklifts, backhoes, skid steer, trucks, vacuum truck, air compressors, and generators.

  • Warehouse inventory – Organize and maintain warehouse supplies, ensure sensitive materials are properly secured, maintain special supplies and equipment as needed, including spill cleanup supplies and equipment.

  • Terminal fuels – gauges terminal gasoline and diesel tanks, balances fuel usage daily and checks tank inventory compared to fuel logbook. Orders fuels from selected and approved vendors.

  • Monitor Contractor performance and work closely with Contractors to ensure work is complete according to specification.

  • This job is a safety-sensitive job subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) and Pipeline Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) regulations.

  • Perform other duties as required by supervisor.

  • Responsibilities may include Department of Transportation (DOT) covered functions, including operations, maintenance, or emergency response on a pipeline. Job duties also require the employee to be alert and respond immediately to dangerous or hazardous conditions, and where impaired performance, or failure to follow safety precautions, could result in serious injury or property damage.

Education

  • H.S. Diploma or GED

Work Experience

  • 1 - 2 years related work experience preferred
